Still alive

Can't believe my last post was Jan 2nd.  I have no excuses... we've been busy and I haven't  made the time to sit and download pics and let our nonexistent blog followers know what's going on.

It's almost March 2015 and I have lots to go back and blog about.  Maybe this one post will spark my interest to get that done.

This pic was taken today at Toppe's before the egg hunt.  Look how big these 3 are getting!!!!  Love them!

Happy Birthday Toppe!

Toppe made another trip around the sun and we love that we could celebrate with another candle on the cake.

Mom and I's 1st attempt at a selfie..... laughed until we cried!!!

Blowing out the candles

Pics with the Big Man

We all know that Santa is super busy and so he must enlist many volunteers to help him fulfill all his appearances at malls and parties across the world, BUT the real Santa takes time to come to Brenham to see the kids and find out what is on their wish list.

I'd love to have heard all this coversation!   The kids did tell me that Santa told them he remembered giving their grandpa Otto his first baesball glove.  Santa has a GREAT memory!

Feel the love

This picture cracks me up because it is a regular occurrence in our house... maybe not the pinching but Caleb & Avery fighting/bickering/yelling at each other.  They are both a bit high maintenance.  Caleb loves agitating his sister and Avery feels it is her duty to tell Caleb what to do at all times.  I pray they'll one day be best friends but until then we'll have a few arguments to settle.

A little random Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving 2014

Maurer Party of 5 has soooo much to be thankful for.  More than ever I am thankful for our health and the health of our family. It's tough to see families that are struggling with sickness and chronic illness.  We are beyond blessed measure and though days are not always easy, we really don't have much we can complain about.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Our veteran

Popo was a guest star at the kids Veteran's Day program.  Thanks Popo for serving our country and being a great example to us!

Caleb's 1st deer!

He got him one!!  Wes took Caleb to Mason with one goal in mind.... for Caleb to shoot his first doe.  After missing one the day before, Caleb was patient and got this with a solid shot.  Daddy was proud!!!  Way to go Caleb!!!

It's hunting season

Freezer is near empty, camo clothes are out, and guns are ready to go.  It's hunting season in Texas and the kids are more ready than ever to be a part of it.
 Deer blind selfies!

Ipads and books are essentials with these 3 in the blind.

Hunting can also be exhausting!

Halloween 2014

As the kids get older, Halloween gets a little less "exciting".  I use to start thinking of costume ideas in September.  This year we were rummaging through closets for ideas just a few days before the 31st.  We were able to come up with 2 baseball players and a hippie.  They were still cute as can be and racked up more candy than we need.  We headed to our annual Halloween party spot in Walnut Hill neighborhood and enjoyed trick or treating with friends.  Always a fun time!

Horns Win!!!

We had great seats to cheer on the horns.  They beat Iowa State 48-45 and made it exciting right until the very end.  The evening game made for a late night but we were able to stay in Austin with Uncle Jason.  Hook 'em!

Texas Tailgate

We finally made it back to the ATX to tailgate with friends and enjoy some Longhorn Football.  Weather was perfect and the kids had a blast.

Another Soccer Season

Soccer has come and gone.  We had our share of Maurer goals and lots of victories.  There were a few losses in there to keep us humble.  We made it through the season with only one game where we had to dress is layers.  Seriously don't know what type of a soccer fan I'd be when they playing 30 degree weather.

All in all it was a GREAT soccer season... now on to basketball.

These 3 are best bud!  Love that they can be on the same team together!  Ethan, Caleb & Jase

 Team Caliente!
