Pogo stick
Two Christmases ago, Avery got a pogo stick and it has sat abandoned in the garage. Not sure what sparked the interest, but the pogo stick was brought out this weekend and Avery has been jumping all weekend long. On Friday, she was struggling to get past 30 jumps. Three days later, she's up to 300!

Amazing landscapes!
The wildflowers are amazing this year. The bluebonnets are out in full force and I am grateful for these views that are right our front door!
Will run for ice cream!
The past 3 years, Maurer Party of 5 has participated in the Blue Bell Fun Run in some form or fashion. A&A&C ran the Kids Mile the past 2 years and Wes and I would run one of the longer runs. This year, I had to help work the event as part of my coaching duties. Caleb decided to go stay at a friends house so that left Wes with A&A. They all decided to run the 5K. I admit I was a little leary of A&A going the full 3 mile trek. I thought surely they'd give out after about a mile. I set myself up along the finish line about 30 minuntes into the race thinking I'd see them 10 minutes later, putting their finish time at 40 minutes. I was blown away when I saw them crossing the line shortly after I sat down. They finished with a chip time of 31:20!!! Amazing! I was SO proud. They only walked a very short bit and they were rewarded with all the ice cream they could eat.

Wes, Avery & Austin Maurer + Dane, Kade, & Brady Rau + boat + lake + beautiful spring day = 150 white bass!!! Yes, this really happened and the dad's never caught a fish. They were too busy baiting hooks and taking fish off the hook.... AND it all happened within an hour. Ready for a fish fry!
Paige Madison Kemper
The long awaited arrival of our new family member happened on Thursday, April 3rd. Mid-morning, we got the text announcing Paige Maddison Kemper! Avery was beyond excited as she was hoping for a baby girl cousin. Wes took the kids ot the hospital Friday night to meet her and we were able to make a trip up to The Woodlands later the next week to enjoy another visit. She is PERFECT and big brother Jack is going to be a great big brother!

Relay for Life Fishing tournament
We baited our hooks and threw out our lines for the 10th annual "Getting a Hook on Cancer" event. It was a little cooler and windy for ideal fishing but we stayed in there and when the weigh in came, the kids weighed in some pretty good perch and catfish. This is always a great event for our fam as we join in to raise money to find a cure for cancer.
