San Antonio Bound

Last year time got away from us and we didn't get in a summer trip with Mimi & Popo. With the kids still so young, our options are a bit limited, but there is always some place to get away to. This year we decided to do something early, beat the summer heat and crowds. San Antonio was our destination. There would be plenty of places to go and kid friendly things to do so we found a weekend that suited us all, booked a 3 night hotel stay, and hoped for the best.
This trip provided a big first for us: first night with kids in a hotel room. I was a little leary of this, but we managed just fine. Truth is between the pools and long days out and about, we didn't have much time in the room and the kids were usually exhausted so we didn't have too much toddler energy driving us crazy in one confined room. We stayed at the Hilton Hill Country Resort, about a mile from Sea World. For us, it was a great match. I think everyone staying there had at least 2 kids under the age of 8. This was not a newlywed destination. It was very kid friendly, a definite bonus for us!
